what we believe

Our Core Beliefs

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is the foundation of our faith and the ultimate authority for what we believe and how we live. Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17 • 2 Peter 1:20–21

The Trinity

We believe in one eternal God who exists in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is God, Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, and the Holy Spirit is our Helper. Though distinct in their roles and work, all three are fully and equally God. One God, equal in nature, power, and glory. We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose from the grave, and is alive today at the right hand of the Father. We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in the world today, drawing people to Christ, dwelling within believers, and empowering the Church to live for Jesus and fulfill His mission. Scripture: Matthew 28:19 • John 1:1–14 • John 14:16–17 • 2 Corinthians 13:14

Sin & Salvation

We believe sin has separated every person from God and that we cannot save ourselves. Salvation is God's gift of grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, we can be forgiven, born again, and begin a new life in Christ. Scripture: Romans 3:23 • John 3:3–7 • Ephesians 2:8–9 • Romans 10:9–10

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism by immersion is an important step of obedience for every believer. Baptism is a public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ and identifies us with His death, burial, and resurrection. Scripture: Matthew 28:19 • Acts 8:36–38 • Romans 6:4 • Colossians 2:12

Speaking in Tongues

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience available to every believer, empowering Christians to live boldly and be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ. We believe the biblical evidence of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We believe speaking in tongues continues to be a gift of the Holy Spirit for the Church today and is expressed both in the believer's personal prayer life and, according to biblical order, within the gathered church. Scripture: Acts 1:8 • Acts 2:4 • 1 Corinthians 12:4–11

The Church

We believe the local church is God's design for believers to worship, pray, hear His Word, build relationships, serve others, and grow together in faith. Every believer has a place and a purpose within the body of Christ. Scripture: Acts 2:42–47 • Hebrews 10:24–25 • Ephesians 4:11–16
